SKILLS CANADA NWT TEAM WINS MEDALS

Eighteen talented youth represented the Northwest Territories at the 12^th Canadian Skills Competition in Halifax, Nova Scotia, May 23-26. Three of these competitors returned home with medals in hand: Peter Boggis brought home a gold in Workplace Safety; Royce Schaff won silver in aircraft maintenance; and Geoff Wiseman won silver in Heavy Equipment Service.

Skills Canada NWT is very pleased with the success of the national team. Many of the competitors are relatively inexperienced in their fields or are in the first or second year of apprenticeship. The organization looks forward to the future participation of these youth and other students in trades and technology fields. Congratulations to everyone who participated at the national competition, everyone worked hard and did their best. Skills Canada also thanks all the people who made this trip possible.
